About Me

I am a botanist with a passion for gardens and gardening.   I have 30 years experience in lecturing to clubs and societies, both in UK and abroad and have also given lectures in the University of Sheffield Division of Continuing Adult Education.

I am also a keen photographer, and particularly enjoy taking photos to use in my talks.

My other passion is family history, and I love researching the multitude of records available.

If you would like to see my range of illustrated talks, go to ‘My talks’ at the top of this page and click on the talks in the drop-down menu.

Most of my talks are available via Zoom during the Covid-19 crisis.  Please see details under ‘My talks’ in the drop-down menu.

Availability (in person) for talks (after the end of the Covid-19 crisis):

April to early September, daytime and evening.

November, December and January, daytime only.

Unavailable February to March, and mid-September to end of October.

Please note, I am based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, and travel by public transport.
